Question:

I installed the RM-521453-5 on my 2024 Jeep JLU Rubicon with steel bumper and steel rock gard. All went well until I went to install the 8 bumper nuts. The instructions said to add washers if there were gaps between the bracket a frame. There was and I added two washers to one side and one on the other. What I didn’t realize was that there was very little tolerance for the bumper nuts to be installed. Since the bracket was slightly offset by two washers on one side, the bracket interfered with the bumper nuts and had to be tightened with an open end wrench because a socket would not fit. It was doable, but not easy. I suggest adding a note to the installation guide to watch for this issue. I don’t know what the solution is when there is such a gap between the brackets and frame that multiple washers are needed other than reducing the tolerance of the bracket which may not work in all applications. I am happy with the installation regardless. Question, the kit did not come with rubber plugs to cover the holes when the arms are not installed. Are they available? Thank you
