Question:

I bought a Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver Custom fit-Class II-1-1/4, wiring kit, and several accessories for my 2010 Chevy Equinox. I am now buying a 2025 Equinox and see this 2inch receiver coming early in 2025. Any chance there could be a Class II 1-1/4inch available also or should I be looking at buying new accessories?

Hello George, thanks for reaching out. I just double checked with Curt and it turns out they do have a 1-1/4" receiver that has just recently been confirmed to fit the 2025 Equinox. The correct hitch is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C98CR. This is a class 2 hitch, so you get the 1-1/4" receiver and a 3,500 lb towing/ 350 lb tongue weight capacity. You will find our install video linked below. Keep in mind that this hitch will fit the 2025 Equinox as long as it is not the Diesel model. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the response. Is there an electrical package for trailer lights that would also fit the 2025 Equinox. Can you tell me if the 2" hitch scheduled for Feb 2025 will be a different install than this 1 1/4". Video shows install on a 2024 Equinox. Thanks.

@George Curt is working on a wiring harness for the 2025 Equinox but it is not through production yet. The correct wiring harness is part # C88RV and it can be pro ordered. The rough ETA is about 3 months. This will work only on vehicles with the factory tow package. Installation for the 2" hitch and the 1-1/4" hitch are exactly the same. Just 3 bolts on each side.

@JesseM; The dealer is not providing me with much information on installing a hitch and wiring harness on my 2025 Equinox. I am being told that Chevy will not have a tow package until early in 2025. I do not know how this impacts my vehicle. I am thinking the wiring harness "C88RV" needs to connect to a connector located under the rear driver side of my vehicle. Can you give me a clue as to what I could look for to see if this connector is part of the wiring harness in my vehicle? If this connector is already built into the wiring of my vehicle, I do not see why I have to wait until 2025 to install a hitch and wiring for a small trailer. Thanks

@George Your owners manual should state if you have the factory tow package or not. If not, the only way to really find that out is to have a dealership run your VIN and they should be able to tell you. Since the # C88RV wiring harness is not available yet, it is a bit hard to say, but it appears this wiring harness will be designed to plug into an OEM connector at the rear of the vehicle like you said. Once it is available I will be able to give a lot more detailed info, but without a manufacturer instruction manual I am really just giving you an educated guess based on the one picture we have.
