Availability Of Heat Shield For Items In Cargo Basket

Question:

Been told I willneed a Heat shield at the back of the Tailgate basket to keep the exhaust from burning stuff in the basket. DO you sell something like that. 2022 Kia Telluride with Reese 24x60 Cargo Carrier - 2 Hitch - 25x61 Outside

Hello Richard, thanks for getting in touch. Sadly, we do not offer any kind of heat shield that can be used with a cargo carrier. This is a fairly common issue especially on vehicles where the exhaust sticks straight back. The only real solution I can offer is to use a cargo basket with a bit of rise built into the shank, such as the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # C18152 which has 2-1/2" of rise. This can help the basket clear the exhaust and protect your cargo.

What's the difference between that one and the one I bought, can I exchange?

@RickC I looked up your orders and I see you got the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # 63153 from us back in January of last year. Your cargo carrier has 2-1/2" rise in the shank just like the Curt # C18152 I mentioned above. There is really no difference between the two aside from the brand.
