Will Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter Shut Off When Connected to Shore Power
Updated 09/11/2024 | Published 09/04/2024 >
Question:
Hi, with the transfer switch in this inverter, does the inverter essentially shut off when shore power is connected and not drawing from the battery anymore? If the generator is running, is that also considered Shore Power and the inverter transfer switch becomes active? Our generator is hard wired into our RV and acts like Shore Power.

Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out!
Yes, the Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter # PD34FR will shut off when you connect to shore power.
You should already have a separate transfer switch for your generator so that when you plug into shore power your RV gets shore power directly.

Thanks Jon. I have a residential refrigerator that hooks into my current inverter to operate it. If this Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter # PD34FR transfer switch shuts off the inverter when plugged into shore power, I am concerned that my fridge will not operate. Does that sound correct or will the fridge get direct shore power electric through the inverter when the transfer switch activates? Thanks Mike
