Hello Pamela. Yes, the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack # Y28DJ will indeed work with step thru bikes. The OnRamp secures your bike using wheel straps on the platform along with adjustable clamps for attaching to the frame of the bike. The clamps can attach to the seat post, which is what makes it compatible with step thru frames.
The OnRamp LX is the new version of the Yakima OnRamp. The new version has a few upgrades, most notably a 70 lb per bike capacity. The ramp attachment is super convenient for loading and unloading and it is fully lockable. Definitely a good choice for a rack.
