No, it doesn't matter. If your 2021 Jeep Compass was made in Mexico it's to American auto standards. The best hitch for it is going to be our etrailer item # e48AR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Jeep with included hardware. It is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver, that has a 4,000 lbs towing capacity, and a 400 lbs maximum tongue weight.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56369 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
