Which MORryde Stepabove Fits 35 inch Doorway Height and 28-1/4 inch Doorway Width

Updated 02/02/2026 | Published 08/10/2024

Question:

I was looking at replacing the steps on my 5th wheel. The trailer has a 35 inch height and a 28 1/4 inch opening width. Looking at your step chart, it says a MR78RR is one of two recommended assemblies. When I look at the spec sheet for the MR78RR step it the opening range is 27 3/4 - 30 1/4 inches. Will this step fit my trailer opening or not?

Hey James, thanks for all of the info you listed about your setup. Based on that the correct MORryde is the part # MR78RR that you referenced. This fits the height range and doorway width range that you mentioned as well.

Hey James, how did the MORryde steps end up fitting your 5th wheel doorway? It’d be great to hear if the width and height lined up as expected. Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same setup.

@Jameson The steps fit well and work great. They are a little narrower than I'd like, but still functional. Based on width I could have used another model that is a couple inches wider but Moryde's data based didn't list them for the application. Installation was simple but did require a bit of intuitive interpretation.

@JamesS Is the interpretation on how it attaches to the floor?

@JamesonC No, it was the attachment of the latches. It's been awhile but if I remember correctly the instructions should the latches mounted on the step side rails. But the latches wouldn't engage the door frame. There was a full width bracket in the box that wasn't mentioned in the instructions. Once I figured out what it was for everything worked great.
