Will MORryde StepAbove RV Steps Fit with a Threshold Height of 0.59"?
Updated 09/24/2025 | Published 09/16/2025 >
Question:
I have a 2020 Rockwood mini lite 2509S with MORryde step above 1st edition. And I want to replace with the following. However, my threshold is only .59 inches above floor, thus it fails the 5/8 to 3/4 listed in your requirements. I was about to cut mine up to mimic this 2nd generation, but I could really use the removable version. Thus Id like to go with the 2nd edition. Thoughts? Hey Brian!
I was able to get into contact with one of the guys at MORryde and he said the minimum is set at 0.62" so your 0.59" should be okay and not enough difference to mess up the fit of the MORryde StepAbove RV Steps # MR48RR with your threshold.
So I say go for it!
What's the appealing part of the removeable steps for you?

I store trailer on the side of my house. It is a royal pain to climb over the step to get inside, only did it twice! Thus it will be very nice to remove steps when storing trailer. I'm stuck between the MR48RR (34 to 36" entry) and the MR98RR (30 to 33.5 entry) difference being height. Currently trailer is on highly sloped driveway. Front is way up in the air to be level (completely extended tongue jack also in air). Measurement to threshold is currently 34 inches. Will be less when hitched up. If I go with the MR98RR it will probably work best when connected. However, does that mean that the legs won't extend far enough to reach ground when it out in driveway and we're loading or unloading. Is there really only 2 to 3 inches of play with either model?
