Replacement Hitch Head Assembly Needed For Reese Weight Distribution Hitch

Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 08/09/2024

Question:

I have two Reese EQ bars. I added the photos. They have a single notch at the top in alignment with the bar. The head they were sold with, used and I did not do my homework, allows them to slip out from the little latch because the little latch in the head is in direct alignment with the notch when the bars are supposed to be snapped up. So, I want to purchase a new head from eBay. I cannot get a straight answer from any of the sellers about whether my bars will work with the new head. All equipment is rated for 10,000 pounds. Could someone please look at the photos and help guide me a little? Thank you, Robert

Hey Robert,

Are there any part numbers listed on the spring bars? What does the end that connects to the trailer frame brackets look like? What frame brackets came with the bars? We'll need to determine exactly which system these are for in order to find the correct replacement hitch head.

Hey Robert, did you find any part numbers or details on the ends of your spring bars to help match them with the right hitch head? Once you have that info, I can help narrow down which head will work best. Your update could make it easier for others sorting out similar Reese setups.
