Is It Possible To Carry A Roof Tent With A Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform?

Question:

Do you have any knowledge or experience with which rooftop tents are most compatible with rhino rack pioneed decks? I have a full size platform installed on my Nissan Armada and cant find mush for mounting compatibility. Thanks.

Hello Trevor. Most roof top tents are designed to attach to crossbars, and not to a roof platform. For example, the Yakima SkyRise HD Tent # Y92QD will attach to most crossbar shapes like aero, round, square or factory crossbars. So, there is no "by the book" way of attaching a roof tent to the platform. A tent would need to attach to the top channels on the platform, and I am unaware of a tent that attaches in this way. I do know that some people do get creative and use tent/platform combinations. This requires drilling directly into the platform and the tent so this is not something I can recommend doing though.

@TrevorJ It looks like that kit requires a tent with mounting rails on the bottom. So, a tent made for crossbars would not work with that. If you can find a tent with rails on the bottom it looks like it will work.
