Does A Dometic Controller Need To Be Reused When Installing An Advent Air Replacement Rooftop Unit
Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 08/03/2024 >
Question:
Looked through the other questions and answers and could not find the answer. Do I have to use the existing Dometic Control board box i.e. relay board from the old unit and install in the Advent Air ACDOM135?

Hey Ken,
Are you keeping the original Dometic air distribution box? If so you would need the reuse the control box since the # ACDOM135 does not come with one. Advent Air builds their controllers into the air distribution box so you would need to replace the current one with one like the # ACDB or # ACRG15.
I'm assuming your current rooftop unit has the controller mounted inside of it? If so and you plan on keeping the existing air distribution box you'll need to figure out a way to mount it in the space between the air distribution box and rooftop unit.
