Question:

I just read https://www.etrailer.com/question-401890.html and that toilet looks a LOT like mine, except that mine is shorter, standard height? It sits on a short, black pedestal, four bolts to the floor, the white ceramic bowl sits on top and is attached with a collar secured with a hose clamp. My problem is two-fold - first, the bowl wont hold water and Im told that replacing the seal is major surgery, requiring disassembly of the toilet - is that the case? The above mentioned article suggests that repair parts are probably not available. Second - the foot pedal is missing we bought the RV used, can we get a replacement? I suppose I should also ask what would be a good replacement, I realize that I will need the 4-bolt to 2-bolt adapter.

For a toilet that won't hold water you definitely want a new one, as there aren't repair parts for it, and that includes the foot pedal. But since you have a four-bolt mount, you can easily replace it, you just need to measure for the fit. What you'll want to do is measure the distance from the wall to the center of the flange the toilet sits, as you can see in the accompanying cut out I added.

If that measurement is 11 inches, for a standard height toilet I recommend the Dometic 320 Full-Timer RV Toilet - Standard Height - Elongated Bowl - White Ceramic # DOM87FR.

This toilet does not have a hand sprayer, so if you wanted that, the best option - with the same 11 inch measurement needed - is the Dometic 510 Full-Timer RV Toilet - Hand Sprayer - Standard Height - Elongated Seat - White Ceramic # DOM29FR.

Both are 2-bolt installs so you'd also need the Dometic RV Toilet Floor Flange Adapter Kit - 4 Bolt Flange to 2 Bolt Toilet - White # DOM73FR.
