Could Dometic 301 Toilet get Replaced with a Full Size 320 Series Toilet

Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/30/2024

Question:

I have a 2018 Rockwood 2109. I need to replace my plastic dometic 301 plastic toilet. I’ve done read that the 301 can be directly replaced with the dometic 311 low-profile ceramic toilet without need for any modifications. However, I’m a taller guy and would like a full size height ceramic toilet. So what model would work best without mods? 310? 320! So many choices… Thank you so much!!

Hey Malcolm, so the lower profile toilets like the 301 part # DOM24FR that you have have a shorter distance from the flange center to the wall requirement of 8-3/4 inches compared to the larger toilets that have this dimension at 11 inches. So as long as you have the needed extra distance there you could go with a full size toilet like the 320 part # DOM87FR. So I would go ahead and check how much space you have between the center of the mounting holes to the wall and see if you can get away with a larger toilet.

Hey Malcolm, did you get a chance to measure the distance from the flange center to the wall on your Rockwood? Once you checked that, were you able to go with the full-size 320 toilet? Your results could really help others trying to upgrade from the 301 model.
