I need an 8,000 Dexter spring to replace my 7,000 pound Dexter 072-098-00

Blane, what you're looking for is the 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-lb Trailer Axles # DX74XR. This spring has a 4k capacity, will work with 8k axles, has 1 3/4" wide leaves.
You'll notice that these springs are a bit shorter, but that's because Dexter measures their springs under load and we measure ours relaxed, which is why there is a difference.
