What Is The Max Towing Capacity Of A 2020 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab LT V6

Hi, I have a 2020 Chevy Colorado, crew cab, LT V6. It does not have the factory tow package. Can you tell me what I need to get to that magic 7000 lbs. towing capacity? I want to pull a small camper under 20.

Hello Aaron. Based on what I can see online, your truck is rated for towing 3,500 lbs since it does not have the OEM tow package from Chevy. It looks like the tow package for the 2020 Colorado basically consists of a 7K rated frame mounted trailer hitch, and a locking rear differential. We do offer a class 3 frame mounted hitch for the 2020 Chevy Colorado, the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e98909. Keep in mind that adding this WILL NOT increase the towing capacity of your vehicle. There are not aftermarket products available that will increase the towing capacity of your truck. The only way to officially get the 7K capacity is to have the OEM tow package straight from the dealership.
