Hey John, I'd be happy to help you out with the parts needed to flat tow your 2009 Jeep Liberty!
Here are the parts I recommend using:
- Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM9519222
- Demco Commander Non-Binding Tow Bar # DM9511010
- Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766
- Brake Buddy Select 3 # HM39524
- High-Low Adapter (see attached article - bracket height is 16-3/4")
The Demco base plate kit and tow bar give you some adjustability to make the connections easier, and then the wiring kit is the best on the market. The battery disconnect isn't necessary, but it does make it so you disconnect the battery with a switch instead of physically making that disconnect. And finally, the Brake Buddy Select 3 is the most reliable portable braking system on the market.
Attached are some videos for your reference. Be sure to also check your copy of the owner's manual for specifics on setting your vehicle up for flat towing.

Hey John, how did your flat tow setup for the Jeep Liberty come together with the Demco base plate and Commander tow bar? It’d be great to hear how the full system worked once you had everything connected. Your update could make it easier for others planning a similar setup.
