Question:
I would like to be able to my tailgate without unhooking. I would need 13 between the hitch pin and the ball. 2 1/2 shank, 2 5/16 ball. Any suggestions. Thanks

Hi Jeff; there are no ball mounts that are long enough to allow for this with your measurements so the only choice is to use an extension. The problem with an extension is that all of them also reduce the receiver down to a 2". It will also reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50% but in most cases that isn't a problem for a hitch with a 2-1/2" receiver.
The # e53YR will give you a 7" extension from your hitch pin hole. A ball mount like the # C45331 has 8-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball so that would get you the 13" to clear your tailgate. This particular ball mount has a 1" rise/2" drop. If you need a different rise/drop please let me know and I'll see what is available.
