Troubleshooting An Advent Air Replacement AC Unit That Keeps Freezing Up
Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/06/2024 >
Question:
I purchased this 15k unit and replaced an old 13k Dometic unit. Pug a play as said ,no issues. Rv is located in south Texas coast problem is at night the unit has frozen up twice in three trips. Old unit has never froze up and was working when replaced. The reason for changing was due to rusted pieces under cover. Thanks William

Hi William,
Do you have the freeze sensor from your previous unit connected to the coils of the # ACDOM150? If not the system won't be able to place itself in defrost mode and will continue to keep freezing up.

Hey William, did reconnecting the freeze sensor to the coils on your 15k Advent Air unit stop it from freezing up at night? Knowing how that worked out could really help others running into the same issue.
