Question:
My vehicle is a 2024 Silverado 2500 and I will be towing a new 2024 Grand Design 297RSTS. Definitely want a WDH for my setup but I'm not sure how to pick the right one. Can you help me out here?

Hi Joe; I can definitely help you out with this. The right weight distribution hitch will depend on the tongue weight of your loaded setup. The best way to find your tongue weight is with a scale like the # BTBRV44FR. You can also use one of the methods outlined in the help article attached below. You will also need to account for the weight of anything behind the rear axle of your 2024 Silverado 2500.
Since we don't have a tongue weight measurement right now we can get a good idea using the specs from Grand Design. The 297RTS has a dry hitch weight of 1,020 lbs and a GVWR of 9,995 lbs. Tongue weight is typically going to be 10-15% of your loaded setup. At 15% you're looking at a max tongue weight of 1,500 lbs but it is unlikely you'll go that high.
Based on this information I recommend the Equal-i-zer # EQ37140ET. The tongue weight range for this system is 1,000 lbs - 1,400 lbs. However, if you find that you're sitting at the high end when you're loaded up the # EQ64FR may be a better choice with a range of 1,200 lbs - 1,600 lbs. Ideally you want to be in the middle of this range so again, it is best to grab a scale and measure to be sure.

Hey Joe, how did things go after you checked the tongue weight on your Silverado and Grand Design setup? Did one of the Equal-i-zer hitches end up being the right fit for your load? Your update could make it easier for others setting up a similar trailer.
