Selecting Between Low Profile Or Standard Advent Air Conditioner To Replace Dometic AC Rooftop Unit
Updated 05/30/2024 | Published 05/24/2024 >
Question:
1Will this Advent low profile unit work with the Dometic digital wall thermostat w/ cool/heat/fan control that my RV currently has? It is a hardwired thermostat. 2 And will it provide the necessary blower operation to the ducting system when the gas furnace is used in cool weather? 3 And is it a direct fit to my old Dometic Brisks ceiling box ducted? 4 What are the technical differences of this low profile unit versus the standard Advent unit other than height? i.e. is there any reason besides height/looks to choose one over the other? Thank you.

You can use either the Low Profile # ASA56YR or the Standard # ACDOM135B Advent 13.5K AC unit to replace your current Dometic unit. It will work with the digital thermostat, furnace system and air distribution box being ducted in the ceiling.
The only difference in these units is the height. They both have the same cooling power and 500 cubic feet per minute of circulation. If the height is not an issue you can go with the standard unit over the low profile.

Thank you for the info. I've ordered the standard height one.
