Troubleshooting Grand Design Reflection 6K Leaf Spring Bent From Equalizer
Updated 05/21/2024 | Published 05/18/2024 >
Question:
I replaced the factory 4 leaf springs on my Grand Design Reflection with e94sr springs. The center equalizer seems to be binding up and it bent the rear of the front spring. Do you have a measurement for the distance between the hangers? I feel like they are too close. Mine is 30 1/2 inches from center to center. Can send a picture if that would help. Thanks

Hey Jim, thanks for reaching out and for sending the photos in!
The 30-1/2" measurement you took seems to be about right. If the equalizers started binding up then they may either need some grease for the bolts, or they may have been tightened too much. The equalizer needs the freedom to move back and forth so the bolt won't be tightened down as hard as it can go.
You might also make sure that your shackle straps are the same length as the ones that came from the factory (center hole to center hole). If they are longer then that might be causing what you're seeing.
You definitely need to replace your 6K Leaf Spring(s) # e94SR though as it isn't safe to tow with it in that shape.
