Looks like you're interested in a weight distribution system for your 2023 Subaru Ascent and possibly a hitch compatible with one. I took a look at your owner's manual (page 431) and if you have the factory hitch it isn't rated for one so the only option you have for it is the Curt True Course Advanced Bluetooth Trailer Sway Control - 1 to 4 Axles item # C94VV.

The Curt True Course item # C94VV is an electric sway control system that connects to your Subaru's 7-Way and is controlled by an app on your phone. It prevents sway by activating your trailer's brakes when it detects sudden or unsafe conditions.

If you are looking for a hitch for your 2023 Ascent that is compatible with a weight distribution system, I recommend the etrailer item # e55ZR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Subaru with included hardware. I really like this hitch because it mounts behind your rear bumper cover leaving only the 2" receiver visible.

With this hitch you will be able to use the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System item # EQ37060ET. This hitch works with trailer's that have tongue weights between 200 lbs - 600 lbs. It has built in sway control that will keep your trailer in line with your Ascent when you get passed by a semi or make a sudden move on the highway.

I have linked review and installation videos below for all of these parts along with the installation instructions. If you have any additional questions feel free to email me directly or comment below and I would be happy to help you.
