Troubleshooting Curt Hitch Holes Won't Line Up on 2020 Toyota Highlander

Question:

I went to install the trailer hitch receiver and the bolt holes wont line up. I can either get the driver side bolts lined up completely or the passenger side completely lined up but I cant get both at the same time.

More than likely the # C45CR was slightly bent during shipping. This is usually the reason the holes won't line up during installation. Unless it is severely bent (cracks or chipped paint can indicate it is unsafe) you can bend it back and get your hitch installed. You can use a vise, step, or even some boards to bend it back.
