Will the Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount Work With a 2022 Acura MDX
Updated 03/18/2024 | Published 03/17/2024 >
Question:
I have a 22 MDX with a very tight clearance between the back of the hitch receiver and full-size spare tire. The 2inch depth of this shank from the hitch pin to back of the shank is perfect. Can I use this shank in the Acura OEM receiver? The trailer being towed has a 3000# gvwr. I have a Reese weight distribution shank right now.

Yeah you absolutely can, Michael. The shank # 325-GH-0352 will fit into any 2" receiver so assuming your Acura's OEM receiver is the same size you could use it.

The length from the hitch pin to leading edge on my current all-Reese WD setup is 1/2 inch longer than using this GenY shank with the same Reese WD head. Would I need to find trunnion bars that are 1/2" longer, or would that difference not be a big deal? Thank you!
