Question:

So I have two questions 1. Could I install the 25k base even if my previous system was a 20k base. Meaning are the couplers all the same? 2. How hard is this to put together? Meaning I see there are different heights and loc. the arms fit the base can be put. how do you determine what height and what loc. could I just follow my old system which is a completely different truck or is the height and loc base off vehicle?

The head # BWRVC3006 you have now has a 25,000 lb GTW so it is compatible with the higher rated base # BWRVB3715. As far as the settings go, it might not be the same as it was for your old setup. There are a lot of factors, especially on the truck, so it depends on both the truck and the trailer.

To determine the correct setting you will need to park your truck on level ground. Use your landing gear/trailer jacks to level your 5th wheel. Measure from the ground to the bottom of the king pin skid plate. Then measure from the ground to the top of the skid plate on the 5th wheel. You also want to ensure that you have at least 5" to 6" of space between your bed rails and your trailer so they do not contact each other.
