How far down do the running boards go. I want one that go at least 6.

Hey George, the Westin Molded Running Boards # W63VX really do not drop down at all, since they are made to be flush with the body of the vehicle. If you are looking for a step that drops down a bit, we do have one good option for you, the Westin HDX Nerf Bars # W37PF. These are cab-length nerf bars with built in hoop steps. The steps themselves crop down about 4" and each step has a stainless-steel traction plate. I know they do not drop down the full 6" you were looking for, but this will be really the only option where the step does not sit flush with the body of the truck. The picture below will show a good example of what they will look like.
