Tonneau Cover and Ladder Rack Rated For 1,000lbs On a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Standard Bed

Question:

Hi, I really like to jack rabbit set up with tonneau cover and lumber racks, but the description isn’t confirmed to fit my truck. Is there any way to confirm that it will fit? Or, is there some other similar product for a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 with a standard box crew cab? I’m looking for racks that can hold at least a 1000lbs and have a sturdy, lockable cover to protect my tools. Thanks

I have a solution for you Travis as Pace Edwards does not offer a contractor rack for your 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. Instead you can use the Pace Edwards Full-Metal JackRabbit Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # 311-M-FMCA28A59 with the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TH43002XT-781EX. I do feel this is a much better solution as well because when you need to throw a tall object in your bed you can simply slide the rear uprights to the front of your bed. They are also easily removable if you know you are not going to need the roof rack. This will make your ride more enjoyable as well since you won't have the noise from the roof rack.

Hey Bud, thanks for the info. Are sure this set up will work together? It looks like the rack rails and tonneau cover rails both sit on the truck bed rails and would be in each others way. And the tonneau cover description say”not compatible with racks? Thx

@TravisV I have included an image above that shows the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack with a similar retractable tonneau cover. The ladder rack simply needs to be able to access the stake bed pockets which the rails on the tonneau cover will not completely cover. When you install the components you will want to start with the ladder rack loosely installed and slide the rails of the tonneau cover in afterwards.

@TravisV We also have the Switchblade # PE37UV which is also an aluminum cover or the RetraxONE # RTX74FR which uses Polycarbonate slats that are also very sturdy.
