Tekonsha shows different NO splice, T connect, trailer light wiring harness for BMW X3 . I do not find if one of the units works with 2016 year model, with 35i engine.

Tekonsha actually says there are no custom fit electrical wiring products for your 2016 BMW X3. I'm not entirely sure what you were looking at, perhaps it was a different year or model since you said you couldn't find one for the 2016. The # 119250KIT we list is a universal wiring harness so we know it will fit your vehicle. This uses the zero-contact interface sensors that clamp onto the wires. It is the only option that will not require splicing. The only other option for a wiring harness would be the Curt # C59236 which uses quick splices.
