We can definitely get you set up. For a 7-way wiring harness for your 2024 Honda Pilot trailsport I recommend the Curt T-Connector # C35ZV which will plug in to the existing tow package connector at the rear your vehicle. I do also recommend getting the # C58000 mounting bracket which will allow you to mount the 7-way plug right next to the hitch.

For a brake controller my recommendation in the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. The main reason I recommend this one is because it takes up very little room in the vehicle. The controller itself is hidden behind the dash, and all you will see is the small LED control knob about the diameter of a nickel. So it is going to blend nicely with the interior if your new vehicle. The LED control knob is also very easy to use once you get the hang of it. You will also need the Universal Wiring Harness # RED69FR to complete your installation.

Hi Jesse, I bought this setup of harness and mounting bracket for my 2024 Honda trailsport and I was unable to use the mounting bracket because it does not fit the factory hitch that comes on the trailsport. Do you have any recommendations for what would fit the factory hitch?

@SamJ Sorry to hear that. Usually that brackets is a universal fit. I suggest you use the Curt Mounting Bracket for 7-Way Connector Plug # C67UR. You could simply use two self-tapping screws and attach directly to the crosstube of your hitch. Or you could add the No-Drill Mount Bracket # 18136 for a no drill install. From the pictures of the OEM hitch I found online, it looks like it is a pretty tight fit with the bumper fascia. There should still be room for you to attach a small bracket though. The Curt # C67UR bracket is only 2-3/4" wide so please do verify that you will have space.

@JesseM Hey Jesse. As an industry professional and seasoned installer with over 40 years of experience, I would caution you or any other team member at eTrailer from recommending that DIYers use self-tapping screws to secure wiring brackets to receiver hitch tubes. ANY hitch engineer will tell you that's a practice they strongly discourage and it will most certainly void the hitch's warranty. Most hitches even have a label sticker that specifically addresses this issue. They usually read: "Do not cut, drill, weld, or modify this hitch." We HAVE seen failed receiver hitch tubes that cracked/broke at the wiring bracket self-tapped holes after years of road salt/corrosion/rusting that resulted in the loss of trailer while towing. Just trying to keep people from making poor choices! By the way... We've been drilling a 2-1/8" hole in the lower-rear bumper fascia about 9" to the left of vehicle center and installing the 7-way plug directly into the bumper facing. (2025 Honda Pilots) Looks more factory, has maximum ground clearance, and drains water out of the plug body. Hope this helps!

I have a 2024 Honda Pilot Trailsport. You guys have a great video on installing a 4 pin wiring harness. I have seen a lot of comments of people saying they are getting a lot error codes when they disconnect the battery. Can you leave the battery connected and install the fuses in the end to avoid these messages and avoid having Toby onto the dealer to get them cleared? Thanks and looking forward to your response.

@Tomg The installation instructions for the Curt # C35ZV very clearly state that the negative battery terminal must be disconnected prior to installation. I cannot recommend skipping this step or deviating from the instructions in any way.
