Question:
Im considering a new jack because I cannot open my tailgate fully with my current jack FIX 3500. The presenter in one of your videos states this Ultra-Fab jack can be turned 90 degrees to eliminate tailgate obstruction. Is this accomplished by rotating the jack head? Mounting holes.are not symmetrical so mounting in different holes is not feasible, in my opinion. Also, if rotating the head is possible with this model is head rotation possible with other Ultra-Fab models? Thank you for your help

Since the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF97FR has a triangular bolt pattern it would rotate the jack 120 degrees and may or may not work for your application. There are other jacks which have multiple mounting patterns on the flange like the Phoenix # UF38-944040 which will allow for 90 degree placement on the jack.
A much simpler option I find is to use an extended Ball Mount # BH20 or a extended Drop Shank # EQ90-02-4600 if you have a weight distribution hitch. This means no mater what trailer you connect to you will have the tailgate clearance you want. You will need to measure your current ball mount or drop shank to verify if they will give you enough clearance. The Ball Mount # BH20 is 13-1/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball hole. And the Drop Shank # EQ90-02-4600 is 14" from the hitch pin center hole to the center of the vertical adjustment holes. This is approximately 6" longer than a standard drop shank.
