Is There A Hitch That Will Not Interfere With The Lift Gate Sensor On A 2024 Toyota RAV4 Limited?

Question:

I have a 2024 Toyota RAV4 limited FWD with the kick sensor rear lift-gate. Which hitch do you recommend that will let this continue working? Im looking for a class III 2 hitch. Thanks for your help

We recommend the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e23ZR for your 2024 Toyota RAV4 Limited FWD. Any aftermarket trailer hitch has the potential to interfere with the lift gate kick sensor. In most cases, it will still function with proper foot placement on either side of the receiver. You may have to wave your foot in a few different locations until you find the "sweet spot" that will activate the sensor. Most of our customers have reported to us that the sensor does still work after installing a hitch, it just works a little differently.

That said, there have been some cases where the sensor functionality has been completely lost, so while it is rare, there is a small possibility. The sensor placement/angle is not completely consistent so which is why in some cases it will not operate as intended.
