Question:

I am interested in the Yakima Y00426 kit and I was wondering if the optional Lock Barel and Key is a universal key type or if there are a large amount of different keys that realy make that option safe to thefts...? Thanks for the feedback.

The keys that come with the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores # Y07204 are not universal and will help prevent theft. On our site alone we have over 50 unique keys for replacement options so it isn't like there are 2-3 different possible keys someone could use to get the rack off.

If you're planning to add the # Y00426 to your 2022 Ford Ranger you will also need the BaseLine Towers # Y28TR and the BaseClip Fit Kit # Y06124. You will be able to add the SKS Lock Cores # Y07204 to the BaseLine Towers.
