Is the Stabilization Strap Necessary for the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch # C11681 on a 2013 Accord

Im thinking of purchasing the hitch but am concerned about the stabilization strap. Is it really necessary? Ill be using a Yakima Holdup bike rack and dont want a strap possible scratching/damaging my trunk lid. The hitch would only be supporting two bikes. Thanks for you help

A stabilization strap, like part # 18050, is necessary to maintain the warranty on the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch, # C11681. If damage were to occur and a stabilization strap was not used, the warranty would be voided by the manufacturer.

Hey Dylan, so we have the Brophy hitch expander part #HTAD which is Class I compatible but the adapter you mentioned can only be used with Class II hitches so it wouldn't work for you.

We have a 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapter that is compatible with Class I 1-1/4 inch hitches like the part #HTAD or for a similar setup that provides additional rise you'd want the part #HT5R.
