Can I replace a 5.70 x 8 wheel/tire with a 165 x 65 x 8 wheel/tire combo utilizing the same 5 bolt pattern? Is there any advantage with going with the 165s? Thank you

While it certainly is possible to replace a 5.70 x 8 tire/wheel with a 165/65-8 tire/wheel with the same 5 bolt pattern, there really is no advantage in doing so.
The 165/65-8 tires are 1.5" smaller in diameter, and would have a lower max load rating than a 5.70 x 8. So unless your goal is to go with a smaller, lower rated tire, I suggest sticking with the 5.70 x 8 tires. If you are in need of new ones I recommend the Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel # AM30140. This will use the same 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and is rated for a max load of 910 lbs per tire.
The 165/65-8 equivalent # AM3H220 is only rated for 800 lb max load.
