Is the back of the plastic where the wires secure labeled per RV or Traditional color standards, or not labeled at all?

The back of the Pollak Metal 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector # PK12702 can be wired to either the traditional or RV standard wiring depending on what colors your trailer wiring uses. As you can see in the image all the functions are in the same location and the only difference is the colors of the wiring being used.
As an example the 7-Way Wire # DW04914-1 we sell by the foot uses the RV standard wiring colors so it would follow that diagram. While many of the colors are used on both the red or purple wires are typically the best way to verify between the 2. You can also test the light functions using a small battery to verify what function is activated on each wire to ensure you connect them to the correct circuit.
