This light takes brightness and reliability up a notch with ten red LEDs behind a clear lens. It runs efficiently on a 12V DC system, drawing only 0.243 amps for stop/turn and 0.46 amps for tail functions. Because it’s LED, there are no fragile filaments to break or bulbs to replace, and it lasts up to 50 times longer than common incandescent lights. You get bright, crisp illumination that keeps your trailer visible with less power draw and less upkeep.
The housing and lens are sonically sealed into one solid unit, making the entire light waterproof and submersible. Water can’t sneak in to corrode wires or short out diodes. That design makes it ideal for trailers that see rain, road spray, or full submersion at the ramp. You can rely on this light to stay sealed, dry, and shining bright no matter what you tow through.
Built with surface-mount technology (SMT), the LED circuit board is made to handle shock and vibration better than older designs. That means it stands up to rough roads without flicker or failure. The SMT setup also helps distribute heat more evenly for a thinner, more compact build that still stays tough over time.
Mounting this light is simple. It installs flat against the surface using the built-in flange—no need to cut large holes into your trailer body. The standard PL-3 connection accepts any 3-prong plug (sold separately), keeping wiring straightforward. With overall dimensions of 7-9/16" long by 3-5/16" tall by 3/4" deep and mounting holes spaced 7" x 2-3/4" apart, it’s a clean fit that looks good and stays secure once in place.

This oval tail light meets FMVSS 108 requirements in any 360-degree position, so you know it’s up to code for safety lighting placement. Whether used as a stop, tail, or turn signal light, it keeps your trailer visible and compliant everywhere you go.

Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at this LED tail light from Optronics. It's gonna have a nice, clear lens with red LEDs. So if you've maybe got a white enclosed trailer or something you wanna color match this clear lens to, I think that would be a really good fit. Most of the other options are gonna be a red lens with white LEDs.
So this one is a little bit different in that regard but otherwise let's check it out. You are gonna get all your standard tail light functions. We've got the running light on right now but you also get your turn signal and your brake lights. Now because of the clear lens, I actually feel like compared to some of the other options that we've checked out today this gets a bit brighter than some of them or at least that lens doesn't filter out as much of the light as a red tinted lens might. So if you are looking for something that's gonna be plenty bright at night these LEDs are gonna do a great job at doing that.
So everything on here is going to be a polycarbonate construction from the lens to the outer flange here, keeping it nice and impact resistant. You're also going to have a sonically sealed construction. So water intrusion shouldn't be an issue. If you plan on putting this on your boat trailer, having it in or around water, it is submersible and water won't be an issue here. Now speaking of that outer flange, we do have our four mounting locations around the edge there.
You can mount it up however you see fit. You will need your own install hardware to get it attached. But aside from that install is really easy. It's got that industry standard, Pl3 plug at the back. So it's just a plug and play install.
If you don't have that plug on your trailer you can pick that piece up separately here at etrailer, but otherwise let's check out that install process. We'll start our installation off by removing our old light. The one we have here is just attached with this grommet piece here. So I'll get a plastic trim panel tool and use that to pry up around the edges until we can get that out of the housing here on the trailer, kind of working our way around like this. Once we have it removed, we can come around back to our Pl3 plug and unplug it and then go and grab our new light. With the old one removed we can just go ahead and plug in our new light to that standard Pl3 plug. Again, if you don't have this already on your trailer, you can pick up that part separately, get it all hardwired in and you'll be good to go. Once it's connected though, we can put all the wires into this cavity here and put up our light using the existing holes that we have on our trailer on the top and bottom and our old hardware that we had to attach it. Again, it does not come with its own hardware. So you may need to pick that up yourself. With everything attached and plugged in we can go ahead and test our lights starting with our taillights, our left turn signal, and our brake lights. Once we verified that everything is in working order we're ready to hit the road. And that'll do it for our look at this Optronics, LED tail light. Thanks for watching..

Could not be happier with the time it took to get it to me !
I looked everywhere for these lights. Finally a friend found them at etrailer.com. Called and spoke with Greg and got them ordered. They look and work great. Highly recommend etrailer.com and Greg.
Nice & Bright Well worth the Cost.
The trailer light was the correct light and arrived in great shape. The previous STL88RCPG light that was on the boat trailer had water in two of the LED's which didn't work, but it was still functional. No picture as the boat trailer is in the back of the garage and it has been below zero the last two days. Installation was easy and the plug fit the existing plug. Thanks for shipping so promptly.
I installed 4 of these on a custom head rack I fabricated. Very bright. No water penetration one year later living in the wet PNW.
Used them as fender turn signals on my f560 tow truck. They work great
Would have been 5 stars but received 1 correct light and 1 wrong light Have been in contact with customer service and hopefully resolved the issue Thank you!!
