Can Hitch Extender be Used with Dual Hitch Adapter
Published 10/24/2023 >
Question:
I flat tow a GMC Canyon behind a motor home. I’m using the Ready Brut II with blue ox face plates. I want to mount the Hollywood RV dual bike rack in the 11 inch GenY down receiver. So the towbar mounts in lower position and bike rack above. Issue is I do not have enough clearance between the rack and front of my truck. Tested and it will hit the truck when making a turn. I believe using this 18 inch extension would give me plenty of clearance. I’m not an engineer so I’m asking, in a flat tow situation where the only tongue weight would be from the bikes and rack, is this safe? I can’t see how an extension would but any additional forward force on the receiver?

Expert Reply:
Because there isn't tongue weight like you mentioned you can use a hitch extension like the # e48YR with your dual hitch adapter so that you have the needed clearance.
