The feet of this system can slide into the t-slots in the rails of the cover for easy installation/removal or adjustment to handle varying loads.
From there you can use a carrier like the Yakima ReelDeal Rooftop Fishing Rod Carrier # Y04089. This carrier can hold up to 8 fishing poles, 4 pairs of skis, or 2 snowboards.
