6-Way Trailer Wiring Harness on an Escapade Trailer Towed by a Motorcycle

Question:
Hello, When I purchased my bike I had it wired to connect to an Escaped trailer. I now have purchased a used 2005 Escaped trailer, but the previous owner cut off the end. I purchased six plug connector to wire it back to the bike. All the wires match except I have a black wire as spare that is the accessory. My question would be where would the black wire be connected to. My question would be is it doubled up with the red power wire?

The red wire should be brake lights and the black wire 12 volt power. But since there is no standard for wire color, it could be the other way around. The best way to determine the functions of the wires on the bike side would be to use a circuit tester such as # 3808. After you verify the functions on the bike side you can trace the wires from the trailer connector to where they terminate on the trailer to determine its functions.
From what I have learned there is a power wire on the Escapade trailers used to power an interior light. If you do not need that light you do not have to have a power wire on the bike side that is functional.
