Question:

I have a 6x12 enclosed pace american single axle no brake trailer produced in 2007. I need a new axle and leaf springs it has a 2990 weight rating and measured 81 inches back side of tire mount to back side of tire mount. And 2 fenders with lights. I tried entering search terms but my trailer is not listed

Finding the correct replacement axle and leaf springs will require measuring and knowing your axle capacity. 2,990 lbs is not a typical axle capacity so I'm assuming that is the GVWR of the trailer. Try checking on the axle to see if you can identify it based on the axle tag. If not, you can measure the diameter or check the bearings to try to find the capacity.

Once you have the capacity, measure from hub face to hub face to get the axle length. I have attached a video below which shows exactly how to measure as well as the typical capacity based on your axle diameter. There is also an article which has typical bearing combinations for different axle capacities.

In addition to the capacity you will also need the length of the leaf springs. This is the spring eye to spring eye measurement. If they have gone flat over time you can also use the flat length to find the best fit. There is also an article with a video below showing how to measure leaf springs.

If you are unable to find an axle that matches your measurements and capacity, you could use the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR3500S05. This fits any trailer width so you don't have to worry about matching your axle length. It will also replace/upgrade your suspension so you have an independent suspension instead of leaf springs.
