Will MORryde Cushioned Pin Box Fit Grand Design Momentum 395MS With Lippert Rhino

Updated 04/18/2025 | Published 08/02/2023

Question:

I have a Grand Design Momentum 395MS with a Lippert Rhino 21k pin box. Would the MORryde MR55QR be the correct replacement for that?

Yes, the MORryde Cushioned 5th Wheel Pin Box # MR55QR will fit your Grand Design Momentum 395MS. The MORryde is designed to replace the Lippert Rhino and will significantly improve your ride quality. It is for 5th wheel trailers with a GVWR over 18,000 lbs and it looks like your GVWR is 20,000 lbs so this is the correct model.

I have attached an installation video below for your reference.

Robin or any other who may know, Got a Curt C36WR on order etrailer, 2022 GMC Sierra 3500hd dually, working on buying GD Momentum 395MS. Will the Morryde MR55QR provide enough clearance to do at least 90 degree turn and nothing collide? Is this the correct Morryde? Understand trucks have higher bed rails now, at moment just has stock gmc bed protection. Thanks

@(rH the # MR55QR is correct if you have a Lippert Rhino pin box. I'm not sure what is on your Grand Design Momentum 395MS but I can check if you have a picture of the sticker on the pin box. Is your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 the long bed model? I don't expect an issue if it is. If you have the short bed then you probably won't have the clearance and need a slider or a rotating pin box for 90 degree turns.

@RobinH Apologies; thought wrote that it's a long bed. Here goes; It's a Lippert Rhino Box but what # am I looking for? Has listed on stickers -- 21,000lbs, pin 5250 max, RPO 0011290467, LCI 2023050872. Large sticker on the frame up into the crossmember (goes up into sealed area) is 573FM463XRBB02071. Nope, don't know what the numbers stand for, do you? SN S011062999. If this unit doesn't pan out, ok to write and ask about the next one we find? Feel we have a good hitch coming that will suffice for anything we'd pull but want to make sure the other half will help with a nice ride. Thanks for all your help. Ralph

@RalphH S/N is usually the best, RPO and LCI are usually enough. They're all different identifiers for Lippert. It sounds like you already know it is a Rhino though so you don't need any of the other info. The thing we're checking for is the bolt pattern since replacements are bolt pattern specific. The # MR55QR will definitely fit. I'm here if you have any other questions so of course you can come back with whatever else you need. That Curt is on the nicer end of their offerings so I imagine you'll be happy with it.
