I will be needing and bed cover. Looking at the 311-SWD7833. What do you think about it to protect the hitch? Plus do I need a hitch cushion and if so how much? Thanks ,

The Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # 311-SWD7833 would be a compatible fit for your 2017 Ram 3500 DRW as long as you have a 6-1/2' bed. If you have an 8' bed then you'll need part # 311-SMD7936 instead.

I'm not quite sure what you're referring to with a hitch cushion, but adding on a tonneau cover will definitely help protect the hitch from the elements and help deter theft.
