Removing Brake Controller from Vehicle Instructions
Published 07/13/2023 >
Question:
Hello! I have a journey HD brake controller that appears to be hardwired into my 2000 Toyota 4Runner Limited. As I no longer need it and it bumps my leg! I am wondering what the best path is for removal without causing problems due to hardwired installation? There does not appear to be any connector, and wires from the vehicle go directly into the back of the controller. Any advice would be appreciated!

Easiest way to remove the controller would be just to remove it from the mounts on your dash and then cut the wires, tape them up individually, tape them all up as a group, and then tape/secure the wiring bundle under the dash so that it won't fall down.
