Troubleshooting Tekonsha Trailer Wiring of 2017 Mazda CX-9 That Doesnt Have Output Voltage

Question:
Hi I am using part no 118278 for a Mazda cx9 2017. I have no power coming out of the trailer wires. Do you know what fuse it is associated with or is the module dead and I need a new one?

Expert Reply:
With a circuit tester like the part # PTW2993 test the wires on the input side of the converter box of the # 118278 to see if there's is trailer wiring voltage going into the box but not out. If that is the case the problem is a damaged converter box and you'd have to replace the wiring kit. If not then it is a fuse and you'd want to pull up the owners manual to look for the fuses related to the trailer wiring and replace as needed.
