Question:
Old Atwood carbon monoxide detector 2013 beeping once every few minutes. How do you replace battery or is it just hardwired into rv battery?

Expert Reply:
If your carbon monoxide detector is beeping frequently then it's alerting you that it's time to replace it. It is hardwired to the battery so the only option is to trash it and replace it with another one like the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector # AT36681 you were looking at. Since you have a 3-wire unit one red wire will typically go to the DC distribution panel for power and the other red wire will go directly to the battery for direct power when you aren't connected to shore power. It won't matter which red wire goes to which power source when you're installing the new unit.
