Question:
I have the same problem read below. How can I do a HARD RESET? Thanks Red Blinking Propane Light On Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector Question: Hi! I had a new Atwood COLP alarm installed in my 3 year old trailer, in was told by the RV mainatance shop that the alarm was bad. I had the new one put in 6 months ago and used the trailer with power on maybe a total of 5 days on and off throughout the summer. I also just installed some shelves in a cabinet that I stained. I turned the power on when I went to use it today a week later and the green power light is on but now the red light is flashing by the propane. What does this mean and what should I do. The alarm is brand new!? Thanks asked by: Amylynn H Expert Reply: The red blinking light on the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector part # AT36681 under the propane heading means that the propane sensor is disabled or faulty. I recommend doing a hard reset of the unit but if that does not work then make sure you are getting at least 9 volts to the unit. If the light still blinks after the rest and ensuing it has proper power then it will need to be replaced.

The instructions state the rest/test button of the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector - 12 Volt - White # AT36681 is the button on the top right, and you need to press that in and hold it down.
If the rest does not work and the red light is blinking, then it is important to replace the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector # AT36681.

What isn’t documented is the fact that after connecting a new unit the green light comes on and immediately the red propane light starts blinking and continues for more than a minute until the unit has completed its start-up sequence. The one I installed in my motorhome had two red wires and one ground. They are connected somewhere behind the coach breaker panel and the inverter. I assume that the manufacturer either has provided two fused power sources (one hot and one backup) or one fused connection for both wires.
