Solution to Carry Extra Long Hobie Outback Kayaks With the Yakima Rack N' Roll Trailer
Updated 06/09/2023 | Published 06/08/2023 >
Question:
I have an outback 2020 and want to carry it upright on a yakima rack n roll trailer - which has round load bars front to back of 50 inches. The outback hull weight is 85lb and fully loaded is 103lb. There is not enough front to back space to use the hobie cradles. What options are there for both travel and long term storage? Thanks

Your best bet is to add the Tongue Extension Kit for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08109 to your Rack N' Roll trailer which will increase the capacity from one 17' long or two 16'-long boats to one 22'-long boat or two 21'-long boats.
The extra capacity added should allow you to carry your 2020 Hobie Outback without issues. As far as storage goes, you can simply just tilt the trailer back and store it in the upright position.
