Can I Use the Conventional Ramp Door Spring on a Trailer that Doesn't Have a Spring?

Can this product work on and avenger 5x12 enclosed trailer that never had spring assist? Or does the trailer have to have spring assist to be able to install one. My trailer is a manual put up and down.

Yes, it will. You can add the Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 5' Wide Enclosed Trailer item # 362SA5 to your enclosed trailer even though it didn't come with one. This fits a 32" to 56" wide trailer door. It measures 56" wide x 4-7/8" tall x 7-1/2" deep and has a 85 lbs capacity.

@RobertR No, not unless you mount them too high.

Normally the trailer ramp springs like the #362SA5 attach to the inside of the top of a trailer door like the picture I attached shows. In the picture you can also see how it attaches to the ramp as well.

Since you have such a skinny door I would recommend you get a spring assist like the Ramp Spring #362SA4. This assembly can be cut down to 23-3/4 inches minimum so it will be a great fit for your custom ramp.
