Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this RV Designer gas strut. Now this is a gas strut, so it's going to act like a helper really for lifting and holding things open, kind of like what you see on a car with a hatchback, similar to what I have on my car, which is a hatchback. This is designed to make opening and closing things a whole lot smoother and safer. So this is going to give you a controlled lift when you open something like a cargo door, an RV bed, or a truck cap, and it's also going to help guide it down gently instead of letting it slam shut.
That added control, as you know, is really nice because it prevents sudden drops and it makes everything feel more stable and secure. This is going to be pretty flexible as well. You can use this on cargo compartments, entry doors, or storage areas where you need a little extra support. The design is relatively compact, so it's gonna work well even in those tighter or hidden spaces where you don't want bulky hardware. In terms of strength, this one has a 150 pound force rating, so it gives solid support without being overly stiff.
And while we're still close up here, let me see if I can get this into frame and then I'm gonna get my tape measure here and attempt to give you the extended length measurement from center to center. And it looks like we're sitting right at 26 inches. This has a durable black finish, so it's gonna hold up well over time and it's not going to stand out visually or anything like that. It's steel, so it's very durable, well constructed. But I think that's gonna wrap up our look today.

We replaced the gas struts on the rv king size bed that came with our 5th wheel with these because after we upgraded the mattress the original ones couldn't support the weight.
