Kevin, Thank you very much for the quick response! I believe I may be confusing myself with the terminology as I am a novice at this 5th wheel thing. Just to clarify 2022 Ram 2500 with factory installed prep requires the BWRVK3600. 2022 (or newer) RAM 3500 with 8ft bed (and the same factory installed prep) would accept the same BWRVK3600. If I step down to the shorter (6ft 4in) bed, than I would need the slider base. Do I have this all correct?

Yes, if you have the factory puck system in both vehicles you would be able to use the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3600 in the bed of both trucks. Factory Prep Package and Puck System are just two terms for the same thing, 4 "pucks" (mounting points) for a 5th wheel hitch and typically also a puck for the a gooseneck ball.

If you end up getting a shorter bed than 8' you can run into clearance issues depending on the trailer so we always recommend using a sliding hitch so that you don't end up in a bind with the truck and trailer touching. If this is the case for you then I recommend getting the sliding base # BWRVB3670 for the additional turning clearance and to minimize the cost.
